Christmas Party, 2005
SLCAO christmas Dinner Dance was held this year at Jim Darrel Arena, on December 15, 2005. About 250 members and guests were particpated. Among the main items were, Christmas Carols, a Christmas Drama by youth, Christmas Songs by small children, Santa Claus, lot of door prices and raffle prizes and live mucic by Ottawa's own music group "Lankan Breeze". Executive Committe like to thank the organising committee, other volunteers,and all the paritipants. Read the thank you note by clicking HERE . A Special Annual General meeting was held on Sunday November 20, 2005 at 1480 Heron Road Community Centrefrom 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. A new executive committee was elected.

The Annual general meeting of SLCA willbe held at 1480 Heron Road Community Centre on Sunday October 30th from 2:30pmto 5:00pm. SLCA of Ottawa cordially invites all members and non members toparticipate in this event to elect the next executive committee.
Please inform in writing to SLCA, if youwish to propose any amendments to the constitution on or before Oct 27, 2005.

Ottawa Wins the TRI-CITYchallenge trophy (Year 2005).
Ottawa beats Montreal andthen Toronto in the final to win the TRI-CITY challenge trophy after 17 years. Congratulationsto the Ottawa team.

May 20, 2005 CricketPractices
The first cricket practice will start on May20th , Friday2005 @ 6.30 pm at Linda Lane grounds, (Smyth-Altavista) in preparation for the TRI-CITYtournament. Those who are interested in playing cricket and taking part in theevent are invited to participate in this practices. TheSLCAO is organizing a Dansala and a competition for Vesak Sarasili. We invitemembers to participate and create your own special Vesak kudu and Vesak sarasilito show your talent and make this event a success. The objective here is to makeour young generation aware of one of the significant festivals we celebrate inSri Lanka.

Update on the Tsunami Fund
We have been able to raise $14,130.31 for the Tsunami Fund as of Feb11, 2005.
The SLCA Executive Committeetogether with the membership of SLCA, thank all contributors for their support inaid of Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. A special thank is extended to JIM KEAYFORD LINCOLN for their generous donation in aid of Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka.
